Early Years Environment
At The John Bamford Primary School, children in EYFS have access to a vast, stimulating environment where learning through play can flourish. JB Tots, Nursery and Reception work closely to share learning spaces and plan together.
Nursery and JB Tots
Our Nursery benefit from a bright, spacious environment designed to inspire curiosity and confidence. It’s a welcoming place where children can explore, investigate and learn through play, supported by caring adults who help them grow at their own pace. The space is thoughtfully set up to encourage independence, imagination and a strong sense of belonging, giving every child the opportunity to thrive.

Reception

When children are ready to start Reception, they will be greeted with a similar natural environment and still have the opportunity to visit familiar areas like the Nursery Playground. Our Reception classrooms are open plan and spacious to give children an opportunity to explore and play with confidence. Due to the EYFS team working together closely, the EYFS learning space is fluid and this supports children when transitioning from one year to the next.
Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is integral to our curriculum in EYFS. We can explore the natural environment and get our daily physical activity through visiting our Outdoor Classroom, Forest School Area, Trim Trail and using our vast EYFS Playground.
