John Bamford Primary

YEAR 5

Hi, I'm Mr Moxon. My favourite subject is maths, but I also love reading and PE. I lead maths at John Bamford. In my spare time I like to go running, watch films and spend time with my daughters, especially going on holiday with them in our caravan.

My name is Miss Bracebridge and I am a Year 5 teacher at The John Bamford Primary School. This is my sixth year teaching here, previously I have taught in KS1 and I am so excited to begin my KS2 adventure this year! I love all subjects but especially those that allow me to be creative! I am responsible for Music, RE and MFL here at school and I also run the school choir.

Teaching and learning in Year 5/6 is through a range of exciting and stimulating adventures. We encourage the children to become fully immersed in their learning and foster their growing independence and responsibility through mature programmes of study.

As part of the Year 5/6 adventures, children will be exploring a range of subjects, which focus on local, national and global aspects to support our vision and values.

In Year 5/6, children continue their learning of multiplication facts as part of their daily maths lessons; they will be given the opportunity to practise their recall of multiplication facts up to 12 x 12 and beyond.

All Y5 children and Y6 non-swimmers will commence swimming lessons during the autumn term. All children will have the opportunity to learn to play the guitar and work with a local artist.
